Overview
Glentauchers, near Keith, is a traditional distillery long valued by blenders — it was built by the Buchanan’s firm for the Black & White blend, and is still run in a deliberately old-fashioned, hands-on way that makes it something of a training ground for distillers.
The history
Glentauchers was built in 1897 by James Buchanan & Co to supply their famous blends, and has served the blenders ever since, now under Chivas Brothers.

Glentauchers draws on the Rosarie Burn.
Glentauchers had no founding clan — it was Buchanan’s commercial venture beside the Keith–Mulben railway, in Grant/Seafield Banffshire.
Visiting
Glentauchers is not open to the public — it is a working production distillery. Its whisky appears mainly in blends and in occasional official or independent single-malt bottlings.
