Overview
Arbikie, on the Angus coast between Montrose and Arbroath, is a single-estate “field-to-bottle” distillery run by the Stirling family on their own farm — growing the barley (and even potatoes and rye for their spirits), distilling and bottling all on the estate. Though on the east coast, it is classed in the Highland region.
The history
Arbikie was built in 2014 by the Stirling brothers on the family’s long-held Angus estate, part of a wave of farm distilleries taking spirit back to its agricultural roots. Its whisky — including a pioneering rye — is now being released.
The water & the land
Arbikie uses its own on-estate water source and grows its own grain.
