Overview
Ardross, near Alness in Easter Ross, is a young, quietly-run distillery focused firmly on making and maturing its whisky rather than on visitors. Backed by Greenwood Distillers, it is building stocks of a Highland single malt in one of the great whisky corners of the north.
The history
Ardross began distilling around 2019, a modern, well-funded venture set in the Easter Ross countryside near the cluster of established distilleries around Alness and Tain.
The water & the land
Ardross draws its water from Loch Dubh.
Ardross had no founding clan — it is a modern distillery near Alness, in historic Munro and Ross country in Easter Ross.
Visiting
Ardross is production-focused and not currently open to the public; check the website for news and releases. The nearby Dalmore and Glenmorangie are the distilleries to visit in this area.
